For immediate release:

COWPENS, SC (June, 2008) - 3G Mermet, a leading manufacturer of high quality solar protection fabrics, has been awarded GREENGUARD Children and Schools certification for six additional products in their fabric line.

New product certifications recently announced by GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) include Mermet's Fiz, Paradis, and Obion fabrics, along with several products from Mermet's eco-friendly line - Vela, Terra, and Blackout Xlite. These "eco-friendly" fabrics, made of 100% polyester, are completely free of PVC and are recyclable.

In January 2008, GEI awarded certification to Mermet's M-Screen, E- Screen, T-Screen, Natte, and Satine. Each of these products received both the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification® and the more stringent Children and Schools Certification™. All of the products certified will feature the GREENGUARD logo.

"With these latest certifications, almost 90% of Mermet's product line is GREENGUARD certified," said Debbi Lowder, Mermet's product manager. "This endorsement assures our customers that our company is committed to maintaining the highest standards of indoor air quality. We pledge to continue the development of intelligent fabrics that provide the best in solar protection and meet these important emission standards."

To achieve GREENGUARD certification, a product must undergo thorough emissions testing overseen by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute in Marietta, Ga. GEI is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that certifies a wide range of building products and materials and sets worldwide standards for safe emissions levels. With their Certification Program, GREENGUARD accepts only products with chemical emissions that meet acceptable IAQ pollutant guidelines. In the business of manufacturing solar protection fabrics since 1976, Mermet's extensive product range covers a variety of applications and provides highly effective fabrics that meet the growing market demand for healthier, more comfortable workplaces and homes.

"3G Mermet customers will see the GREENGUARD logo," said Chris Duerk, Director of Sales & Marketing, "and know that our solar protection fabrics do not contribute to indoor air pollution, making Mermet products an excellent choice for all interiorscape projects. The timing of these endorsements is significant," Duerk added. "Our company recently completed a major expansion of its manufacturing and distribution plant and is now launching a new national sales initiative. Designers and architects, already familiar with Mermet quality, will see the GREENGUARD logo and know that Mermet is also committed to higher customer safety standards."
